Putting The LS-Wonder On a Diet With BMR |
It’s been a few months since our late-model GM project, the LS-Wonder, appeared in the magazine. In the last installment we finally opened up the engine and swapped on the popular F.A.S.T. LSX intake manifold and 92mm "Big Mouth" throttle body.
Once we had our little vacuum leak troubles fixed, we were happy to gain nearly 30 RWHP, which was great, but in itself proposed a problem, even before the new intake the car was already quick beyond the NHRA's rules would allow without a cage (and t-tops), so track testing our improved intake was out of the question until proper safety components were installed.
We speculate if we were able to run the car with the intake, 11.50's at 117 "ish" on street tires would've been possible. Our best time so far with it is 11.64 at 115mph. |
